What’s this all about?

Good Friday is the day each year that Christians celebrate the fact that Jesus was crucified. Why? Why do Christians celebrate such a horrific death? The reasons are many, but the main point is this:

On the cross, Jesus traded places with us.

All of our sin went to him and all of his righteousness came to us. When he cried out “it is finished” he meant it. He accomplished our eternal salvation through the power of his cross and he’s coming back to make all things new by the power of his resurrection. That’s the good news.

Today, February 28th, is 50 days prior to Good Friday (April 18th). John Piper has written a small book titled 50 Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die and has made it available to all for free in PDF format. So that leads us to this:

We want to invite you to join in with us in reading one chapter of this book every day leading up to Good Friday. We’re calling this 50 Days of 50 Reasons (#50Days50Reasons).

Each chapter is only about 2 pages in length, so it’s a quick and easy read. But I can guarantee you that each chapter is packed full of gospel truths. This will help you dive deep into what Jesus accomplished for you, and I believe, if you join with us in reading, your joy will skyrocket!

You can get your hands on 50 Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die in a HARD COPY of here, buy it on KINDLE here, download a PDF for free here, or read online by following the links below. If you decide to be a part of 50 Days of 50 Reasons, be sure and share what you’re reading on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter by using the hashtag #50Days50Reasons.
